Description
Care from within for beautiful skin, strong hair and healthy nails - new: with natural acacia fibre
To keep skin, hair and nails strong, healthy and attractive, they require certain nutrients. Biotin (vitamin B7) is one of them. It is also known as the hair vitamin or vitamin H, because this vitamin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin. In Unimedica’s Biotin Plus tablets, biotin is optimally complemented by zinc and selenium. Zinc and selenium also support the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails. Natural acacia fibre is also used in the tablets.
Unimedica Biotin Plus tablets contain 10 mg biotin (vitamin B7) per tablet. This corresponds to 20,000% of the recommended daily allowance for healthy adults. With 10,000 μg biotin per tablet, Biotin Plus provides a particularly concentrated and convenient daily supply.
How biotin, zinc and selenium work together
As part of the B‑vitamin complex, biotin is involved in numerous metabolic processes, e.g. energy metabolism and the metabolism of macronutrients. Selenium is an essential trace element and important for normal thyroid function. Selenium and zinc support the immune system and protect cells from oxidative stress.
The cells of the skin, hair and nails must be supplied with energy and nutrients for the tissues to look and grow normally. Waste products from metabolic processes, such as reactive oxygen species, can in turn impair the normal condition of skin, hair and nails. Therefore supporting the body's defences with zinc and selenium is important. All three substances work hand in hand to ensure that skin, hair and nails function normally and look attractive.
Which foods contain biotin?
Biotin (vitamin B7) is found, for example, in wheat bran, pork liver and eggs. Alternatively, it can be taken conveniently and adapted to a vegan diet with Unimedica’s Biotin Plus tablets.
Benefits*
Biotin (vitamin B7) contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and hair as well as mucous membranes, to normal energy‑yielding metabolism, to normal nervous system function, to the normal metabolism of macronutrients and to normal psychological function.
Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system, to normal acid–base metabolism, to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, to the maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood, to the maintenance of normal bones, hair, skin and nails and has a role in cell division.
