R-alpha-lipoic acid (R-ALA) is a sulphur-containing fatty acid. It is produced in small amounts by the body itself. R-ALA occurs as a coenzyme in the mitochondria and is required for the body's immune defence and for the energy supply in every cell. Alpha-lipoic acid is soluble in both water and fat and thus can also cross the blood–brain barrier. The R-form of alpha-lipoic acid is the only natural form of this substance.

The R-alpha-lipoic acid capsules from Unimedica contain the biologically active and stabilised form of alpha-lipoic acid. This makes it 21 times better absorbed by the body than non-stabilised alpha-lipoic acid.

Patented, innovative ingredient

The innovative ingredient for this, Bio-Enhanced® Na-RALA, comes from the USA. It is a natural ingredient, the sodium salt of the bioactive alpha-lipoic acid. The salt is heat-stable and highly soluble. As a result, the body can absorb it well in every cell. During the production of this special ingredient all contaminants are removed from the natural raw materials, so that unpleasant side effects associated with taking non-stabilised R-alpha-lipoic acid do not occur.

R-ALA in the diet

Vegetables such as spinach, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and tomatoes, as well as red meat and offal, are very good sources of R-alpha-lipoic acid.

What is the purpose of R-alpha-lipoic acid capsules?

R-alpha-lipoic acid exhibits a range of properties that can support our overall wellbeing. For example, it can bind to metal ions such as lead, mercury, copper, iron, magnesium and calcium and neutralise them by forming a gel-like complex. Therefore, R-alpha-lipoic acid should not be taken at the same time as calcium, magnesium or iron supplements, as this would negate their effect.

Each jar of R-alpha-lipoic acid capsules from Unimedica contains 60 capsules. This corresponds to a one-month supply.

Vegan and free from the following additives

Vegan capsule shell made from pure plant-based cellulose (HPMC), free from carrageenan and PEG. Great product against MIGRÄNEATTACKEN
After a long search and trying out various products and methods for my weekly migraine attacks, I finally found this product. After taking it for about 2 weeks, I could already feel a clear improvement. I also decided in favour of Magnesium Glycinate, as you can take this magnesium 3 times a day and therefore feel more relaxed throughout the day. I also take vitamin B complexes, coenzyme Q10 and the new product Uniflorin Plus. The gut is also known to have something to do with the brain. So I thought that my gut should also be included. I am just so enthusiastic about these products, but especially about R-Alpha... that I have decided to share this success story with everyone who also suffers from migraines! 😴

I have already ordered the product several times and am very satisfied. I tolerate it well. I mainly take it for my migraines. As I haven't been taking it for 3 to 4 months yet, I can't give a final assessment. However, I have had fewer migraine attacks than usual in the last few weeks. (I also take colostrum and B2 for the migraines). It is an excellent R-alpha lipoic acid because it is stabilised and therefore more bioavailable. An excellent product.
