What is Maca?
Maca + L-Arginine Complex forte from Unimedica contains valuable maca extract. Maca extract is obtained from a root-like part of the Peruvian maca plant. It is full of valuable nutrients that help it thrive on the barren high plateaus of the Andes under extreme weather conditions.
What is L-Arginine used for?
L-Arginine is a protein-forming amino acid that the body produces in small amounts and obtains from food, e.g. from nuts and seeds, as well as from meat and dairy.
It plays a role in various processes in the body, including the urea cycle and as the sole precursor from which the body can produce the signalling molecule nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is important for the function of blood vessels and muscles, as well as for the regulation of blood pressure. It complements the valuable constituents of the maca extract.
Why are vitamins added?
Maca + L-Arginine Complex forte from Unimedica is also enriched with vitamins C, B6 and B12 and the trace element zinc to support the immune system. Vitamin C improves iron uptake, supports energy metabolism and strengthens the body's defences.
Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal balance and to the normal formation of red blood cells. Vitamin B12 plays a role in cell division and, like B6, contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism. Zinc supports the immune system and contributes, among other things, to a normal acid-base balance and to the maintenance of a normal testosterone level in the blood.
A daily dose (4 capsules) of Maca + L-Arginine Complex forte from Unimedica provides 100% of an adult's daily requirement of vitamin C, B6, B12 and zinc (percentage of nutrient reference values pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 (FIC)).
Vegan, natural and free from the following additives
Vegan capsule shell made from pure plant cellulose (HPMC), free from carrageenan and PEG. Maca + L-Arginine Complex forte from Unimedica is, in accordance with legal requirements, free from additives such as colourings, preservatives, stabilisers, anti‑caking agents such as magnesium stearate and is free from genetic engineering, vegan, lactose‑free, gluten‑free and gelatine‑free.
