Update to: When Viruses Make Us Afraid 04 March 2020

Joette.jpg

Thank goodness for the internet

Thank goodness for the internet. Even if we are practising social distancing, we don't have to retreat into social isolation. Even in these unpredictable times it's important that we continue to share experiences — and sometimes remedies — with one another.

You may know that my whole family is currently recovering from a virus. Was it "the" virus? I can't say, because we weren't tested. How could anyone know?

But I can tell you what I do know for certain: we all stayed home and nursed ourselves back to health with homeopathy. We also did a little work each day, but only for a few hours.

Which remedies helped during recovery

Even after we had reliably and sustainably beaten the virus, we continued to do a lot to support our recovery. I found that the remedies that helped us best during the acute phase also worked very reliably afterwards. For example, if Bryonia had helped one of us in the acute stage, that family member continued to benefit from that remedy afterwards.

But if Gelsemium was indicated during the acute phase, I continued to give Gelsemium during the recovery phase because that worked best.

Of course we also continue to take Calc phos C3 or C6 together with Ferrum phos C3 or C6, twice daily until we are fully well again.

If you don't have what you need at home, please take the remedy that has helped you before — until the appropriate remedy reaches you!!! I have emphasised this many times in the past. So if you don't have Calc phos or Ferr phos on hand, stick with the remedy that has helped you previously.

And please pass the information on to friends and relatives — and perhaps share a few pellets.

You don't have to do this alone. Especially not now. Learning together creates the best conditions for staying on track.

How I came to homeopathy

In case you don't know — I wasn't always a "leading" homeopath. I used to be an expectant mother who wanted to protect her unborn child from the side effects of modern medicines. I was prepared to do anything to keep the usual antibiotics, cortisone treatments and asthma inhalers away from him.

But when I discovered homeopathy, I was also able to do without the essential oils, vitamins and supplements that I had relied on for my health in earlier years (even then I didn't want to take synthetic medicines). It was a real turning point for me.

It was as if my knowledge and my confidence had literally exploded. That's what happens when you educate yourself and begin to understand things.

I learned how to reliably treat an ear infection, could practically pull the right remedy for tonsillitis out of my sleeve and treated all the injured and unwell with reassurance and competence.

I wanted to pass on this knowledge; it was a deep desire of mine. I wanted to share it with friends, multiply it and give as many people as possible the chance to live as healthily. I came up with the idea of meeting regularly with friends to learn together how we could use homeopathy for our families.

This fairly simple concept grew over the years into a dearly loved weekly ritual. Every Thursday we met and I can't remember ever missing a meeting. At the start of our meetings I didn't know very much about homeopathy, but I was sure I didn't want to go this path alone.

Even then I could see that homeopathy has an incredibly powerful healing capability and could protect my family effectively from illness — or perhaps even from the often serious side effects of conventional medicines. I felt it was my duty to tell others about it.

My mother-in-law would have joined the group back then, but she lived in Cape Cod and we were in Buffalo. (Skype or Zoom didn't exist yet). It would, of course, have been easy to enthuse her about my new passion. Things are easier when family and friends pull together. Then mothers-in-law can also accompany grandchildren into life with great confidence.

A global movement

Today there are groups all over the world in which initially sceptical relatives and friends are carried along by the enthusiasm of those who simply set out and founded a homeopathy group. That's how it works! My simple decision to learn homeopathy with friends changed my whole life — for the better!

So here I sit today, able to face the storm calmly and confidently. When I go shopping, I see the panic in the eyes of masked, glove-wearing people. I'm not saying precautions are unimportant, but it's distressing for me to see so much fear.Supermarket with mask and gloves

In these turbulent times I'd especially urge you to start your own homeopathy group. With Zoom or Skype it's child's play. When times calm down again you can move the virtual meetings to your home or the community hall. And bring the children on board. You will be amazed at how quickly children learn! Study groups also have the advantage that your own learning curve rises steeply.

Even if you know nothing about homeopathy yet, that's not a problem — just start. And if you're already an old hand at homeopathy — in a group you learn faster, more easily and it's more fun. A group encourages exchange and brings suggestions you might not have thought of. You will be able to work out many cases together and find the right remedy as a team.

We are a worldwide movement of mothers, grandmothers and families who have discovered that modern medicine cannot keep the promises it makes.

It is a global movement that brings healing back to where it belongs — into the family and through homeopathy. All you have to do is reach out; the prerequisites are all there. The adventure is already waiting for you. Use the medicine we want for our families. I am happy to support you on your journey so you can help others.

Let's do it together — worldwide, from mother to mother and family to family.

Because now is the right moment. Pass it on!

Warmly

Yours, Joette
