Surgical procedures? S stands for Staphisagria

In December, at the suggestion of many readers, I wrote about homeopathic support before and after surgical procedures. At the end I had announced another post on this topic for the new year, and I haven't forgotten it!

When we are stressed, it's sometimes hard to remember everything. Even the names of the simplest and most effective homeopathic remedies slip our minds. To prevent that happening so often, I'd like to write today about a remedy that should not be missing from any home medicine kit:

'S' stands for Staphisagria!

Staphisagria is a very effective remedy for two problems that commonly occur after a surgical procedure. In my pocket medicine kit for a hospital stay it would never be absent Homoeopathie-fuer-Notfaelle-und-akute-Erkrankungen-Alok-Pareek-R-S-Pareek.13376.jpg.

First there is the incision itself. Staphisagria is indicated for clean-cut wounds, and what could be cleaner than a scalpel incision? You might be surprised, but postoperative pain is most often not due to injuries to the deep tissues, or the fact that the surgeon had to push organs aside with their hands. In most cases the pain comes from the incision itself.

In these cases Staphisagria C200 helps – as an emergency remedy (as needed), taken every 3–12 hours depending on how often and how severe the pain is. This remedy not only relieves the pain but also acts prophylactically against wound infection. That's a great (and sorely needed) double function!

Staphisagria also helps when problems with urination occur after catheterisation. This happens very frequently in men. Women can also be affected, but the main focus here is on men.

The causes of this complaint are:

  • Either an injury to the urethra when inserting or removing the catheter, or
  • Spasms in the urinary tract in response to the catheter. If the urine flows slowly and in spurts, that is a sign that it is a spasm.

The cause is not important, because Staphisagria C30 helps in both cases. It is taken twice daily in this circumstance. And I can tell you from personal experience that it works almost every time!

Of course we make every effort, through the use of homeopathic remedies, to avoid surgical interventions as far as possible, but sometimes they are necessary. For those times it's worth having a pocket medicine kit to get truly well again as soon as possible.
