The patient was very nervous and anxious and felt as if there were electricity running through her head.
Her mother was also addicted and worked as a prostitute. Her father also used drugs; she had seen him only twice in her life. She was neglected as a baby and was physically and sexually abused as a young girl. She was a sensitive and empathic woman who could also be very impulsive. She suffered from panic attacks.
Although she had grown up in violent and unsafe circumstances, she had always felt that life ought to be different. In principle she believed in the goodness of people. At school she met a teacher who supported her and gave her stability. With his help she was able to create a path for her life. Lithium phosphoricum C30, one pellet as required.
Follow-up
She has become calmer, more stable and more mature. Her physical symptoms have disappeared (i.e. the feeling that her head was buzzing with electricity). "Emotionally I no longer feel so entangled in other people's problems." Her mother had often threatened suicide, which used to weigh heavily on her. Now she is better able to distance herself from her mother.
Follow-up after one year
Everything is going very well. She no longer takes Ritalin and smokes considerably less (12 cigarettes a day instead of 30). She is married and pregnant with her first child.
