Review: Veterinary Homoeopathy Congress 2016

News

Congress in Bad Bellingen from 22–24 April 2016

Following on from the successful Veterinary Homeopathy Congress of 2013, this year again a weekend was devoted to the homeopathic treatment of animals. The internationally leading veterinarians in this field impressively managed to pass on their sound knowledge and vast experience in treating dogs, cats and horses to the participants.

With plenty of humour and empathy the well-known English veterinarian Peter Gregory spoke about the homeopathic constitutional types in dogs and how to recognise them in everyday practice. Just in time for the congress his work Practical Handbook of Veterinary Homeopathy was published. His colleague, who also practises in Great Britain, Sue Armstrong focused on cancers in dogs and impressed with a number of excellently documented and successfully treated malignant pathologies. Her book on this subject Foundations of Homeopathic Cancer Therapy for Animals had also just appeared for the congress.

The Swiss veterinarian Dominique Fraefel managed to build on his excellent lecture from the last congress and discussed the importance of Vithoulkas's four groups of health for veterinary homeopathy. Extremely vivid case examples rounded off his contribution.

The popular veterinarian Christiane Krüger kept participants on their toes this year with a homeopathic quiz on practical cases and beautifully conveyed the variety of a homeopathic veterinary practice. From an alpaca mare suffering an electric shock to a budgerigar in shock, (almost) everything was included. Her book The Cat Homeopathy Book will be published shortly.

The horse expert and veterinary homeopath Erich Scherr spoke about stereotypies and narcolepsy in horses and was particularly impressive with the remarkable case of a Shetland pony with a fetlock injury that, thanks to homeopathic treatment, was spared a threatened amputation.

Gertrud Pysall presented the MOTIVA training she developed for horse and human and demonstrated how communication between the two can function smoothly. Her book The Secret of the Horse's Language had just been published.

The pioneer Christiane Maute concluded the congress with a look at the incredible possibilities of plant homeopathy.

Already in September we continue with our animal patients — with a practical workshop with Christiane Krüger on the subject: Problems in the homeopathic practice. Participation in this workshop is limited to 30 people, so early registration is advisable if you are interested.
