The Autor presents the first homeopathic proving of thyme, an important constituent of herbal cough syrups. Surprisingly, none of the provers developed a cough. The physical symptoms primarily involved the head, dizziness, vision, the kidneys and the muscles. Particularly common were a sensation of paralysis in the upper arms and twitching in various places. On the emotional level a polarity was observed between tension and irritability on the one hand, and relaxation and withdrawal on the other.
