Nux vomica as an epidemic remedy - Genius epidemicusAgain this year, sickness levels shortly before Christmas are very high. Acute respiratory illnesses are occurring above average. In the Kandern practice, patients with rapidly onset severe flu-like symptoms are becoming more frequent, sometimes accompanied by nausea and stomach pain. In the evaluation, Nux vomica conspicuously often came first. So far 16 patients have taken it, some of whom responded very well. Three experienced rapid improvement even with severe malaise and nausea, with a reduction in fever. Potency and dosage: The potency that has proven effective is Nux vomica C200. Approximately 10 globules or drops are dissolved in a glass of water or a water bottle. In the acute phase, take a sip every ½ hour to hour. Stir or shake well before each sip. In the Potsdam region, Nux vomica C200 is also currently being used successfully for flu-like symptoms with severe limb aches, frontal headache, marked tiredness and a runny nose. So far 4 patients have responded well to the remedy. Stomach pain and nausea were not prominent here. However, irritability caused by noise/sounds and an aversion to light were present. We have also received initial reports from India that Nux vomica helps very well in acute COVID-19 cases. In epidemic illnesses, a few homeopathic remedies often prove effective. We are also very pleased to receive further feedback and case reports from therapists in order to identify particularly helpful remedies for the current wave of illness.
