Wound care after surgical procedures

Worldwide all attention is focused on COVID-19 and its effects on us humans. There is hardly any other topic.
What we do not talk about, however, are the unintended consequences of the lockdown we are using to try to control the pandemic!
To illustrate the extent of these collateral damages, I would like to tell you about my colleague, whose husband had to undergo surgery for an orthopaedic problem shortly before the first lockdown.
As you know, I have no objections to surgical procedures when they are absolutely necessary. These especially include reconstructive measures after injuries.
Complications during surgical procedures
With our homeopathic remedies we try to avoid operations as far as possible, but sometimes such procedures simply cannot be prevented.
What you can do before and after an operation to optimise the healing process can be read in my blog post Are you facing an operation? Homeopathy can help. The treatment protocols described there were also followed in the case of my colleague’s husband and everything went smoothly.
But a few weeks after the procedure an unexpected problem arose. The so-called "self-dissolving" sutures with which the surgical wound had been closed had not done what they were supposed to do, namely dissolve completely. Not only that, an abscess had formed around the remaining fragments, which was now opening through the already healed incision.
And it got worse with each day.
The treating surgeon examined the wound thoroughly. He clearly expressed his frustration that, because of Corona, all surgical practices had to close. He would have liked to open, clean and reclose the wound.
But in these unusual times he had to treat the wound the "old-fashioned way" (his words). (That is another reason to find a doctor with grey hair – he has enormous experience and plenty of tricks up his sleeve!)
After he had cleaned the wound thoroughly and removed the suture remnants, he called my colleague into the treatment room to show her how she could care for the wound at home. What exactly should she do? She put it this way: "Change the dressing every day and cover the hole with a new compress" so that the wound can heal from the inside out.
How bad was it really? I would say: "If you are squeamish, you should not scroll any further".
My colleague compared it to a gunshot wound (she has not seen a real one, but she has seen lots of old Westerns!). The wound was almost two centimetres deep and very badly inflamed.

Now please don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Homeopathic wound care
As you can see from the photo, the wound had become infected and the infection had become a serious problem. Luckily this somewhat "old-fashioned" doctor did not prescribe a systemic antibiotic straight away. So my colleague was able to resort to the life-saving Banerji Protocol:
Hypericum perforatum 200 in combination with Arsenicum album 200, to be taken every three to twelve hours.
In the first days she gave her husband Hyper/Ars more often and then tapered the remedies off slowly as she noticed they were working well. In the end he took both remedies only twice a day, until the wound was completely healed. This helped prevent a renewed infection.
I also recommended that my colleague rinse the wound several times a day with diluted Calendula tincture – mixed in a ratio of 1:20 with sterile water – and moisten the compress with it. The tincture had to be ordered first, even though I urge all my students to assemble a small home first-aid kit in good time – just in case!
In this case it took several weeks for the Calendula tincture to be available and by then it was too late for application. The pandemic also had an impact on homeopathy, causing supply bottlenecks and a rush on homeopathic remedies. You can bet, however, that my colleague learnt from this and stocked up a small supply.
Now back to the actual story (you may open your eyes again).
Successful healing process
The following photo was taken just three weeks later. We owe the wound healing to Hyper/Ars – and to an "old-fashioned" surgeon who knew how to properly treat a wound even in an emergency: regular dressing changes for two weeks and then Leukoplast.

Once again homeopathy has shown that it can free people from fear, dependence and isolation.
I strongly advise you to relearn the knowledge of past generations, who lived more self-determined and independently in many respects than we do today. Strictly speaking, homeopathy is also "old-fashioned", because it has been practised successfully and in its original form for over 200 years.
And yet it can be described as a modern scientific method. It is now known that nanoparticles also play an important role in pharmacology and the effectiveness of dosages in the nano range can be demonstrated in Nano-dosages and other little things.
Although an end to the lockdown is slowly coming into view, we will never return to our old "normal" life. Never has it been more important to learn more about homeopathy so that you can take your family’s health into your own hands – independent of what is happening in society.
Homeopathy works. Spread the word!
Warm regards,
Yours,
