| ? Message for the victims and sufferers from the Chair of the JPHMA |

|
The seaquake of magnitude 8.9 at a depth of approximately 24 km shook the coast of Honshui Island about 400 km (250 miles) north‑east of Tokyo on Friday afternoon (local time). There are very many victims in the vast area and several other places in Japan have also been hit by aftershocks. I would like to express my sympathy to the people affected who have had to endure this terrible catastrophe. Fears about the scale of the natural disaster have now been confirmed; the problems will also affect the nuclear power plants in Fukushima. Please take your homeopathic first-aid kit with you everywhere!

My dear colleagues,
Many thanks from the bottom of my heart for the numerous concerned messages in recent days to me, to the JPHMA and to the people in Japan. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support! We are working to help the affected people so as to initiate rapid healing with homeopathy as quickly as possible. At the international congresses of the ICH and JPHMA next October I hope to be able to show you that Japan has recovered. I look forward to your visit here in Japan.
With warm regards

The huge quake on the north‑east coast is described as the worst Japan has ever experienced. The episode described below took place on that dreadful day. While the events were still unfolding I had to think about this incident. I would like to tell you this to show how seriously I take the whole matter, how I am dealing with this catastrophe and to ask for your understanding. There was a young woman who worked in the town hall of South‑Sanriku, one of the worst‑affected places. She was responsible for risk management in the town hall and it was her duty to inform the local people that a huge tsunami was expected. Therefore she decided to stay in the office. Her mother urged her to flee, but the young woman did not respond and continued to inform the residents over loudspeaker: “Please evacuate! Please leave the area! A 6m high tsunami is expected here!” Her mother made the difficult decision to leave her home town by car and to leave her daughter behind. While fleeing she still heard her daughter’s voice announcing the tsunami. Almost all the cars behind the mother were swept away. The drivers kept sounding their horns nonstop to call for help. The mother was able to reach a mountainside, from where she could still hear her daughter’s voice and the horn‑blowing; it was agony for her. Soon most of the people in the town hall had died. Only a few strong men who had clung to an iron bar on a roof terrace survived. The young woman stayed until the end on the third floor of the building and continued to shout her warnings into the loudspeaker. All the windows had shattered and the destroyed building was full of rubble. It turned out that the tsunami was not 6 but 10 metres high, and the town hall, together with the young woman, was swept away and obliterated by the waves. However, the most serious problem caused by the massive tsunami concerns the nuclear power plants on the coast. Japan has an unusually large number (about 55) of nuclear power stations near the coast. This catastrophe has made me think; it must awaken the Japanese. I believe we should initiate a movement to stop the nuclear industry. We Japanese should have the courage to say that we no longer want nuclear power stations, and I hope that this movement will spread from Japan to the rest of the world. It is important that other countries in the world agree with this step when Japan begins its protest against the nuclear industry. What the Japanese must do now is replace nuclear power stations with other types of energy production and make greater use of natural resources such as water and wind. We must urgently work towards a new development and in future generate our electricity from the forces of nature. I feel that Japan must initiate this movement, and even now I dream – surrounded by calamity and destruction – of the day when there will be no more nuclear power stations in Japan. So far 1,800 people have already lost their lives, 15,000 are still missing. It is feared that the death toll will rise to more than 10,000 people. Since Japan has already experienced the atomic bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we Japanese should make it unmistakably clear that we no longer want nuclear power stations in our country. It is time for the Japanese to tackle this problem. If we Japanese do not become active after this massive catastrophe with so many victims and high radiation exposure, nothing will change about the use of nuclear power in the world. I feel that this is our mission for Japan, which has been struck by this terrible catastrophe. Therefore we Japanese must not be defeated! We did not recognise the danger posed by 55 nuclear power stations before we paid such a high price. That is why we must continue to work to become a little wiser every day. Hahnemann said: “Aude sapere (Dare to know)”. We must know what is safe and what is not, what is true and what is untrue, and what is right and what is wrong. It is time we learned such things. I believe that humanity can be saved if Japan shuts down its nuclear power stations. The Japanese must find the courage to take this step. I hope that the dangerous nuclear power stations will soon disappear from your countries as well. ************************************************************************* Dear homeopathy colleagues, I would be very pleased to be able to present to you a newly risen, healthy Japan at the international conference of the ICH and JPHMA on 8, 9 and 10 October this year. Please be sure to come to our conference in Japan. I look forward to meeting you. Until then, all the best, Torako Yui Chair of the JPHMA
