It has quite a lot to bear: our number one detox organ! Too much fatty food, too many sweets, too much eating without breaks – the liver works around the clock. And this lifestyle does not remain without consequences: persistent tiredness, lack of energy, but also skin rashes and joint pain – the body resists. It deposits toxins in the connective tissue and looks for ways to eliminate them. In an overloaded organism, however, gallstones do not form where most people believe — in the gallbladder. There are relatively few stones there; they mainly deposit in the liver. This is shown by the experiences of people whose gallbladder was removed yet who still pass stones after a liver cleanse according to Andreas Moritz.
In this article you will learn,
- how the liver can be detoxified,
- how exactly a liver cleansing cure can help, and
- how the liver cleanse according to Andreas Moritz works.
Why is the liver so important?
“Thousands of enzyme systems, which are practically responsible for all bodily activities, are built up in the liver.”
- Dr Karl Maret, physician and author
This quote summarises the liver’s duties very well. Whether the eyes, the heart, the gonads, the joints or the kidneys – the proper functioning of the liver with its numerous processes of hormone and enzyme production is essential for the whole body. If the formation of even one of these thousand enzyme systems is disturbed, it affects the overall condition of the body.
The liver is the largest organ in the human body and is located in the right upper abdomen. Fundamentally, the liver fulfils three main tasks:
storage and distribution, fat breakdown and secretion, and detoxification.
And it is precisely these functions that make the liver such an important organ for the body.
The liver – a storage organ:
Amino acids, vitamins A, D, E and K and minerals (e.g. iron and copper) are stored to be distributed throughout the body. That is why the liver is also known in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a storage organ (Zang organ).
The liver and fat digestion:
In addition, the liver is the central hub for fat digestion. It not only provides bile acids for fat digestion but also largely determines whether fat is converted into energy or stored.
The results are then unmistakable in the form of fat pads. Therefore the liver also plays an important role if you want to gain or lose weight.
The liver and detoxification:
One of the most important functions of the liver is detoxification. The organ shows exceptional efficiency here: with its immune cells (the so‑called Kupffer cells) it digests bacteria, viruses and other pathogens.
All this is no problem as long as the liver is healthy. Then hormones, chemicals and even medications can be broken down to a certain degree by the liver’s enzymes. Often, however, far too many toxins flow into the body in today’s world. Industrially poor diets, herbicides or pesticides on vegetables and fruit, medications, heavy metals in drinking water – all this burdens the liver and leads to liver symptoms.
The liver’s outcry at too many toxins
The liver does not show its overload through pain, because it has no pain receptors for that. Nevertheless, it sends plenty of signs that allow you to recognise when the liver is overloaded and its detoxification function is impaired. It sends many signs by which an overload is detectable. The primary symptom is tiredness.
The liver’s pain is tiredness.
If persistent tiredness exists, this is a sign that the liver could be overloaded. In addition, there are other symptoms that, alongside tiredness, lack of drive and lack of energy, indicate an overloaded liver. These are:
- digestive problems such as bloating or a feeling of fullness
- food intolerances (e.g. to fatty foods)
- unexplained back pain
- blemished skin (pimples)
- mysterious rashes (e.g. urticaria)
- headaches
- high blood lipid levels (cholesterol)
- circulatory disorders
- concentration or memory problems
- a sensation of pressure in the right upper abdomen
- a yellowish coating on the tongue
- increased susceptibility to infections.
If such symptoms are present, a liver cleanse is advisable. Because an overloaded or diseased liver is the breeding ground from which serious illnesses can arise.
If the liver is operating only with reduced power, this also means that incoming poisons can no longer be neutralised sufficiently. That means the blood is more burdened with toxins and the task of oxygen transport cannot be performed at full capacity.
As a result, metabolic waste products are no longer sufficiently removed and become deposited in the connective tissue. The body turns into a dump!
Time for a liver cleanse
Almost every person with a chronic illness suffers from the consequences of their “clogged” liver. In these cases it is not uncommon for there to be thousands of stones blocking the ducts of the liver and gallbladder. These are the experiences of naturopath Andreas Moritz, which he describes in his book The Miraculous Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse.
He shows that people with allergies or back pain can regain their natural vitality, that tiredness and lack of energy can disappear, and that an overall sense of well‑being can be restored.
The liver and gallbladder cleanse according to Andreas Moritz
Many people doing a liver and gallbladder cleanse according to Andreas Moritz for the first time do not know whether to cheer or to freeze in shock: very often hundreds of green or beige gallstones end up in the toilet bowl even on the first cleanse. Each and every one of them could have caused massive pain and problems.
Here medicine often fails in its diagnostics, relying predominantly on blood tests. It cannot really help to comprehensively assess the health of the liver. For most people have perfectly normal liver enzyme values despite numerous health complaints, although their liver – as repeatedly shown by the liver cleanse – was clogged to the brim with stones.
Liver enzyme values actually only increase when the liver is already very severely damaged on an organic level, e.g. in hepatitis or liver inflammation.
For this reason a well‑founded liver cleansing cure such as the one Andreas Moritz brought to public attention is recommended. Andreas Moritz is the author of numerous books, including the bestseller “The Miraculous Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse”.
His work has repeatedly been discredited, unfortunately, although he was able to document his successes with numerous cases from his practice.
How exactly does the liver and gallbladder cleanse according to Andreas Moritz work?
Hardly any cure is simpler and at the same time cheaper with the same efficiency as the liver and gallbladder cleanse according to Andreas Moritz. Only five ingredients are needed for the cleanse:
- 6 litres of apple juice
- Epsom salts
- olive oil, preferably cold‑pressed
- fresh grapefruits (ideally the pink‑fleshed ones)
- two half‑litre containers, one of them with a lid.
That is all!
The liver cleanse according to Andreas Moritz is divided into two phases.
1st phase: Preparation
Before the actual liver cleanse there is a six‑day preparation period during which a change of diet takes place and 1 litre of apple juice is drunk daily.
2nd phase: The cleanse
The actual cleanse then takes place on the evening of day six. A certain amount of Epsom salts is dissolved in water and drunk. The Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) widen the bile ducts to stimulate the excretion of gallstones. Later that same evening a second portion of the bitter drink is consumed. Then around 10 pm the grapefruits are mixed with the olive oil and this mixture should be taken in small sips. Afterwards lie down immediately and remain lying for at least 20 minutes!
The next morning, day seven, the third portion of the Epsom salt drink is taken and a little later in the morning the fourth and final portion.
As early as 10 am a little fruit juice can be drunk again and shortly after that fruit can be eaten. Light meals are recommended for the following days.
What can you expect?
The result of this liver cleansing cure does not take long to appear: usually already on the morning of day seven, and at the latest in the afternoon after the cleanse, a watery stool with more or fewer stones can be seen. Usually they float on the surface in pea‑green colour and come in all sizes and shapes.
The darker they are, the older they are – the black stones are the oldest. It may be that many small stones come or large ones with two to three centimetres in diameter.
Occasionally thousands of stones can be flushed out at once. Yellow‑brown to whitish stones are calcified stones that contain heavy toxic substances.
A kind of “foam” may also appear. This, however, consists of millions of small, sharp‑edged cholesterol crystals.
Conclusion
The liver functions as a cleaning station by neutralising hormones, alcohol and medications. Specialised cells bind the toxins that reach the liver from the intestine and excrete them via the bile ducts. For this alone the liver filters around 1.5 litres of blood per minute and produces 1.1 to 1.6 litres of bile per day. Therefore one can imagine that a liver clogged with gallstones is very severely limited in its detoxification function.
For precisely this reason the liver and gallbladder cleanse according to Andreas Moritz, for example, is suitable. It is an excellent method to rid yourself of gallstones in an uncomplicated way. The liver is also a very grateful organ; its regenerative capacity is almost unparalleled once the burdens have been removed.
Use the regenerative power of your liver! With a liver cleanse you will immediately notice palpable changes in your life. Your digestion, your strength and your performance will certainly improve.
When is a liver cleanse not indicated?
As a rule, the liver and gallbladder cleanse according to Andreas Moritz can be recommended to everyone. In some exceptional cases, however, this cleanse is contraindicated, for example in severe degenerative liver diseases. In such cases please consult a doctor or therapist. The cure is also not recommended for severe kidney disease, for diabetes, during pregnancy or for insulin‑dependent patients.
