Kali phos and the Christmas hustle and bustle

News

When I was a little girl, Christmas Eve was the only evening of the year when my parents weren’t strict. My large Italian family gathered at my aunt and uncle’s house to celebrate Christmas. After midnight mass all the cousins — including my brother and me — were allowed to stay up all night!

The WHOLE night. In other words, an awfully long time.

Christmas is in the air

I could hardly keep my eyes open, but I was having so much fun with my older cousins. So I absolutely wanted to stay up with the big girls, even if it would kill me!

After all, it was Christmas Eve.

Looking back on that time from an adult perspective, I can only imagine how grumpy and unbalanced we children must have been the next day. If only my parents had known Kali phosphoricum back then.

Kali phos for sensory overload

Kali phos 6 (usually taken twice daily) has proven useful when children's usual daily routine is disrupted. It is also a good option for children who become noticeably overstimulated by family gatherings, Christmas parties and other festive events. Kali phos has even been found to be an effective remedy for night terrors. (See also Night terrors in children.) More information on dosage and potency of the remedy can be found here.

But perhaps you put your children to bed especially early on Christmas Eve and Kali phos 6 can still be helpful. Our little ones often sleep poorly because they are excited about the festive days ahead and all the presents. Anticipation can be a real sleep thief.

Let’s be honest, this is an intense time of year, even for adults.

Kali phos for stress and anxiety

In our Christmas carols we sing of peace on earth and goodwill towards men. However, if you’ve listened to the news recently or tried to do your shopping in a crowded shopping centre, you may have noticed that the media seem to have only one theme: fear, fear and yet more fear. No sign of peace and goodwill.

Before you know it, the stress of having to prepare a perfect Christmas can lead to financial worries, burdensome to‑do lists and feelings of tiredness, irritability or anxiety. Sleep problems may follow (either difficulty falling asleep or waking during the night). And the situation can quickly become very serious.

If you feel overwhelmed, the smallest task can seem like an insurmountable obstacle. But Kali phos 6, taken twice daily until you feel better, might be just the thing.

Also read Kali phos for bright minds to find out how this important Schuessler salt can help students and pupils with mental stress.

It’s best to include Kali phos 6 in your home medicine cabinet. It is an indispensable homeopathic remedy all year round and especially for the hectic Christmas season.

Now I must go. I live in the north and have to shovel snow! That’s just how it is at this time of year! There is soooo much to do.

Warmly,

Yours
