A detailed case report demonstrates the importance of different aetiological factors which, from the perspective of the doctrine of miasms, provide a key to the investigation of the disease process and to remedy selection. Hahnemann's psora doctrine has opened the homeopathic view to the whole biography, including previous illnesses, stressors and traumas, and can be seen as a precursor to modern trauma theory.
