A new perspective on the development and manifestation of chronic diseases arises from the contradiction between miasma theory and evolutionary theory.
From the standpoint of evolutionary theory, miasms can be understood as protective survival mechanisms that can be inherited as response patterns. Three universal fundamental forces shape these reactions and are also expressed in our facial features. The latter can therefore serve as a diagnostic tool for identifying the prevailing miasma. The main aspects of this facial analysis are outlined.
