It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…” The quote from Charles Dickens’s A Tale of Two Cities keeps running through my mind.

If there is a perfect description of the past year, it is this! There was so much confusion, mockery and mistrust and at the same time 2020 was the year in which an unexpected opportunity presented itself to our families.

An opportunity?

Absolutely — because we have learned that we must be prepared and that it is time for families to come together and face the challenge as one.

And that it is time for families to come together and face the challenge as one. If we have learned anything from the past twelve months, it is that we have to be able to rely on ourselves. We should know much, much more than we currently realise.

We should again listen to common sense and not follow mainstream media, health authorities and politicians blindly. Our families’ health must be the absolute priority. We need to learn how to take the health of each family back into our own hands so that we can no longer be misled. Of course that was always true to some extent, but at the moment it is more urgent than ever.

AND each and every one of us should know how to help one another – such knowledge helps us be prepared for tomorrow’s unexpected events (and they will definitely come).

If we keep in mind that our children and grandchildren are our future, then they are the ones who should hold all the reins. It is important that our children can distinguish between good and evil, between friend and foe. Equally important is that they know which remedy will help them with various ailments.

I taught this to my own children — more on that later…

Knowledge is power

I have written many times on this topic that we must consciously strengthen our families. That includes each family member developing abilities and skills they can draw on later in life – abilities that will not go out of fashion quickly. Skills for which it makes no difference which political party is in power or whether the world around us is making less and less sense. We must know how to question things critically and act wisely.

More than ever we should raise our children and grandchildren to think independently – not to follow anyone or anything blindly, but to look beyond the obvious and abandon pigeonhole thinking. Especially where the television is concerned.

We want many bright and critical minds in our families.

That is why I want to share with you what I learned many years ago and passed on to my children.

Homeopathy for the pocketHomeopathic Pocket Pharmacy for leisure, sport, at home and on the go - Eberhard Laubender

I taught my own children that it is important to help one another. On ski holidays, for example, they always had Arnica C200 in the pocket of their ski jacket in case they had an accident on the slopes. They could give this remedy to each other on site.

If one of my two sons had a sprain, the other knew that Arnica C200 could be taken every few hours. In more serious accidents – a mother’s absolute nightmare – they could almost automatically give Arnica C200 every 15 minutes during the first hour after the accident. Or less frequently, depending on need.

Then there is the Banerji protocol with Aconitum 200 and Bryonia 30, which are given in combination every few hours at the start of a cold or cough – depending on the severity of the symptoms.

My sons did not know this protocol at the time because I had not yet been trained in India, but they knew that Aconitum 200 reliably helps with a sudden onset cold.

They also knew that Hepar sulph 30 can work wonders for an early ear infection. And it was so interesting that the two of them learned from one another and supported each other in honing their homeopathic knowledge.

Homeopathy is fun

I believe they had tremendous fun possessing this unusual and powerful knowledge. The family bond and their impressive independence were simply unbeatable!

It is something that not only has accompanied them on their path into adulthood, but a gift they can pass on to their partners and their own children.

My dear readers – the health of my family is well secured for future generations, and yours will be too.

This is my idea of family life and child-rearing!

And although I invested a lot of time and energy in my children’s homeopathic ‘education’, there were times when I would have liked someone by my side from whom I could have learned. Someone who had shared their knowledge with me and passed on their personal experiences and tips. That is why I would like to share my experiences with you here.

Was it the worst of times for you?

Perhaps the changes we bring about in our lives as a result of our personal experiences can turn this time into the best of times. Let us accompany our children and grandchildren together on this unique and worry-free journey into life… from my family to yours.

Warmest regards,

Yours
