The scale of evolution and its 14-billion-year history, told in the span of 12 months.
All living things on Earth, from single-celled organisms to the rose and the elephant, are chemically very similarly constructed. Essentially, they are made up of the same molecular building blocks, which mainly consist of the elements hydrogen (H), carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and oxygen (O). These four elements can form stable and long-lasting linkages with one another through so-called covalent bonds.
