Chocolate cake with whole-egg powder

A delicious and moist chocolate cake made with whole egg powder.

Ingredients:

  • 200 g plain flour
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 100 g sugar
  • 50 g whole egg powder
  • 120 ml water
  • 120 ml vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 240 ml buttermilk

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin or line it with baking paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, whole egg powder, water, vegetable oil and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until no lumps remain.
  5. Slowly stir in the buttermilk until a smooth batter forms.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and allow to cool before removing it from the tin.

Cook time: 35 minutes
Total time: 50 minutes
