Calypte anna: Anna's hummingbird in homeopathy

News

Properties of the remedy

People who match the remedy picture of Calypte anna may show autistic features very similar to those of Neon. They resemble the savant syndrome, in which sufferers are on the one hand brilliant and ingenious, yet on the other hand often helpless in everyday life. As with the noble gases, we also see poor social interaction here. They are often lost in daydreams from which they startle awake abruptly.

They are extremely sensitive to sugar and can detect even the smallest amounts in foods that other people do not notice at all.Homoeopathie-bei-Autismus-und-Asperger-Syndrom-Judyth-Reichenberg-Ullman-Robert-Ullman-Ian-Luepker.16556.jpg

They may, under certain circumstances, lack masculinity and have a heightened perception of danger. They can be awkward and spontaneous and alternate between inner hyper‑excitability and dullness.

They often have a desire to hum.

The proving protocol of Calypte anna can be viewed on the Luminos Homeopathic Courses website (select Calypte anna under the ‘Provings’ menu).

In nature

Hummingbirds are unique creatures. They belong to the New World birds and can fly backwards as well as hover. They live up to 14 years. The males display their qualities in dramatic flight displays and song routines. Of all vertebrates the hummingbird has the highest metabolic rate and among birds the fastest heartbeat. When foraging they are extremely selective because they rely on energy‑rich food. On approaching a flower they first test it for sugar content, choose the sweetest flower and then return repeatedly to the same flower. This ensures that their nectar gathering is worthwhile. Territories containing many high‑nectar flowers are highly prized and are aggressively contested.
