Boys, concussions and broken furniture

The two boys had probably watched a bit too much World Wide Wrestling on TV. The two brothers spent many hours in the hobby room of their parents' house practising the fantastic throws of their favourite wrestlers. One evening, however, Hulk Hogan's special move, which 10‑year‑old Jason wanted to try out on his younger brother, went badly wrong. During the knockout manoeuvre the little one sank to the floor and did not move.
Stunned.
In his panic Jason picked up his younger brother and ran, tears in his eyes, to his mother. He was absolutely certain his brother was dead!
Of course it turned out to be only a concussion and, in the mother's presence, the little boy soon regained consciousness.
The somewhat confused and dazed-looking boy later that evening developed the typical signs of a concussion: he complained of throbbing headaches.
Fortunately the brave little warrior was treated homeopathically by his mother.
First she gave him Aconitum napellus C200 for the immediate shock after the incident.
Shortly afterwards (about 15 minutes later) she gave Arnica montana C200. This wonderful remedy heals head injuries, but can also be given for blows to other parts of the body.
(On YouTube you can see how this remedy is made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KeNMha0F9g).
After this first aid the mother could then observe all further symptoms. Unfortunately, after the doses of Aconite and Arnica the hoped-for reaction did not occur and she decided to give Arnica again (about 15 minutes later).
When there was still no improvement, the mother considered which remedy would best match her little boy's symptoms.
She decided on Ledum palustre C30, since this remedy can be indicated for blows to the head. In addition it looked as if a black eye was developing on her son and Ledum is specific for that injury. After one dose of the remedy a slight improvement seemed to occur. In homeopathy we strive to heal holistically and comprehensively, not merely to remove a single symptom.
At bedtime the little fellow was still complaining of a headache: "My head is pounding badly." He therefore had throbbing headaches and the remedy for that is Belladonna C6. It was given once.
Later the mother gave Arnica,
Ledum and Belladonna again, each at intervals of about 15 minutes.
By that time the headaches were already much better and the eye was no longer black. That's how quickly homeopathy can work in acute situations!
Although several hours had passed since the accident, the parents wanted to keep an eye on their son and let him sleep in the parents' bedroom.
In the morning the little hero awoke with only slight headaches. His mother continued to give him the remedies she had already administered and each time he felt a little better afterwards. She now knew she had taken the right course. In the evening the headaches were no longer severe but still present, and the young wrestler received a final dose of Belladonna to finish things off.
On the morning of the third day almost all symptoms had disappeared, so the mother dispensed the pellets one last time and the day passed as usual, entirely free of complaints.
A big well done to the mother.
I am often asked why I sometimes use quite different treatment protocols to treat an illness or an injury. My answer is that many roads lead to the goal.
In this spirit I would like to say a few words about the Banerji protocol for concussion:
Cuprum metallicum C6, given immediately after the injury at short intervals. The intervals are gradually lengthened as the patient's condition improves. This remedy is absolutely indicated when the patient is dazed and dizzy, has convulsions or even temporarily cannot see after the head injury.
My students have also been able to apply this remedy successfully, for example Gayle, who was able to help her son with febrile convulsions.
Homeopathy heals… and will certainly help you and your family too.
If only it could mend the pile of broken things as well!
