Female patient, born 1962.
Diagnosis: alcohol addiction, herpes labialis, visual disturbance (albinism) and reduced hearing. Very nervous. Haemorrhoids.
By nature the patient is very spontaneous, but she is ashamed of her appearance. One of her brothers has attempted suicide and she was present when he tried to kill himself. A sister died after a fall down the stairs; she was drunk at the time. There was probably incest in the family, but the patient was not affected.
She is very compassionate, too good for others and sacrificed herself for her parents. As a child she often fought with her brothers ("I am very strong") and in the past she used to hit her husband when she was angry. Very honest, has a sensitive sense of justice..jpg)
Prescription
- Causticum: slight improvement of symptoms.
- Prescription: Ferrum phosphoricum LM6, one globule daily.
Follow up
She responded very well to the remedy. "I feel well." Emotionally she felt much better. From the nervous 'wallflower' (as her therapists had described her) she became a strong, self-confident woman. She developed into a role model for other patients. Her hearing also improved and the haemorrhoids disappeared. When she was discharged from the clinic, she was a new person: calm, composed and strong.
Discussion
Compassion and spontaneity are typical of Phosphorus, strength, fighting spirit and hitting belong to the characteristics of Ferrum. The theme 'fighting with the brothers' fits Ferrum phosphoricum.
The remedy restored balance throughout the organism – both physically and emotionally.
