Produktinformationen
See and look your best at any time of day thanks to vitamin A
Vitamin A drops from Unimedica are a simple, individually dosable way of meeting the daily requirement of this essential vitamin. Vitamin A (retinol) contributes to the maintenance of vision. It is known for this. However, it is equally important for maintaining normal skin and mucous membranes, for iron metabolism and the immune system. Its function in cell division supports the regeneration of the skin, among other things.
High-quality retinol for direct utilization in the body
Our vitamin A in drop form contains retinol, which is dissolved in high-quality, coconut-based MCT oil. This makes it easier for the body to absorb and process, as vitamin A is fat-soluble. As it is absorbed directly as vitamin A, the otherwise necessary conversion from the provitamin beta-carotene from food is no longer necessary. Tocopherol (vitamin E) protects the drops from the effects of oxygen and keeps the substance stable.
Why do we need vitamin A?
Vitamin A is a component of visual purple and the retina and is important for converting light into electrical impulses in nerve cells. It is needed for light-dark vision. But retinol is also of crucial importance for cell differentiation. It thus contributes to the development and functional maintenance of tissues such as the skin and mucous membranes. In addition to supporting the immune system, vitamin A has many other tasks in various bodily processes. For example, it promotes the absorption of iron in the body. Retinol is one of the essential nutrients we need to live.
Which foods contain vitamin A?
Vitamin A (retinol) is found in liver, meat, eggs, fish and dairy products such as cheese. Only provitamin A (beta-carotene) is found in plant foods. This is converted into vitamin A (retinol) in the body. Beta-carotene is mainly found in fruit and vegetables from the yellow-orange to red color spectrum such as carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, red peppers, apricots, mango, honeydew melon, tomatoes and beet. Green vegetables such as kale and spinach also contain beta-carotene.
When is additional vitamin A necessary?
Normally, healthy people can obtain an adequate supply of vitamin A from food. Even with a balanced diet, there is no risk of overdosing on natural retinol or beta-carotene. With a purely plant-based diet, care must be taken to ensure that foods containing beta-carotene are consumed in sufficient quantities and that fat (e.g. from vegetable oil) is consumed at the same time so that the body can convert it into bioavailable vitamin A. It is important that fat digestion and the thyroid gland function normally, as this is essential for the enzymatic conversion of beta-carotene into vitamin A.
For times of increased need and to counteract an undersupply due to personal circumstances or a very one-sided, vitamin-poor diet, vitamin A drops from Unimedica are recommended as an individual supplement.
