For Uniflorin for Children from Unimedica we developed a powder with six living bacterial cultures! The bacterial strains are very carefully selected.

So that the bacteria are well supplied with nutrients, they come with their favourite food: inulin in organic quality. This is fibre made of long-chain fructose. Fructose is nothing other than fruit sugar, as naturally found in fruit and vegetables. The fine and lump-free powder with very good solubility makes taking Uniflorin child's play: simply measure the dose with the spoon provided and mix the powder into a cold or lukewarm drink or add to food.

The white powder is almost completely neutral in taste with just a light sweet note due to the organic inulin from agaves.

Carefully selected spectrum of bacterial cultures

Uniflorin for Children from Unimedica consists of a varied spectrum of living cultures.

Bifidobacteria are natural and essential inhabitants of the human digestive tract, especially the large intestine. They are found shortly after birth in the guts of babies – especially breast-fed children.

Lactobacilli strains are responsible for the production of lactic acid. These bacteria play a decisive role in the fermentation of various foods such as yoghurt, sauerkraut, kefir and certain types of cheese. Through the fermentation process, these foods not only have a longer shelf life but also acquire a unique taste. In fermented milk products, the lactobacilli also help process lactose.

Streptococcus thermophilus produce, like other lactic acid bacteria, lactic acid, lowering the pH value of food, so hindering the growth of damaging bacteria. They also support the breakdown of lactose in milk products. In fermented milk products, this bacterial strain often works together with other bacterial strains to improve the fermentation process. In addition it helps increase the nutrient density in fermented foods.

Which foods contains useful bacterial strains?

Useful bacterial strains can be absorbed through the consumption of fermented foods such as kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut or yoghurt. A balanced diet with little fat and sugar but rich in fibre, fruit and vegetables additionally supports the colonisation and multiplication of these useful bacteria.

The gut flora (microbiome) consists of billions of microorganisms. This includes principally bacteria living in the digestive tract. They are important for basic body functions, such as the digestion of certain foods like fibre and some carbohydrates.

A person's microbiome is as individual as their fingerprint, naturally containing a number of different bacterial strains. The cooperation of numerous different bacterial strains also makes it easier for useful bacteria to overcome the resistance of "unfriendly" bacteria. Teamwork is what counts in the gut.

What disturbs the balance of gut bacteria?

Stress at school, a sugary diet with little fresh food, insufficient exercise and certain medications can disturb the balance of gut bacteria. To combat the consequences of disturbed gut flora, it is important to ensure a healthy and varied diet, sufficient liquid intake, enough sleep and plenty of exercise in the fresh air so that helpful bacteria can colonise the gut.

It is not necessary to store this product in the fridge, even after you have opened it. Store under 20 °C and avoid large temperature variations such as on a shelf directly next to the oven or on a window sill (in the midday sun).
