7th edition
This table presents a classification of plants into stages and series; an approach similar to Scholten’s for the periodic table of the elements, applied to the plant kingdom.
The table includes remedies derived from the plant kingdom that are little-known or very recently trialled.
What is the plant-kingdom table?
In the same way that the concept of classifying minerals and its relation to human pathology is used, it is also possible to use the systematic botanical order; an order describing the evolutionary process of plants.
Plants are the source of nature’s capacity to evolve and develop. They can therefore describe human development and explain its progress. Only once the Materia Medica is fully projected onto the axes of botanical evolution are its full implications revealed. Just as letters of the alphabet acquire meaning when arranged specifically to form a word or sentence, a continuous historical account of evolution and the human stages of development is revealed when the Materia Medica is read according to the natural (evolutionary) order of the plant kingdom.
The columns of the table describe the stages of individuation while the rows present the levels of maturation. Together they form the physiological, emotional, mental and spiritual content of each family of plants, whereas a single remedy can only describe some of those variations.
The table refers to the challenges and obstacles the ego encounters on its path of development, from birth to old age, from the primary state of union and unity to the advanced stage of individuality, while assimilating the lessons of masculine and feminine elements. The table can therefore explain the characteristics of plant groups, “minor” remedies and new experiments. Clinical cases can be better understood when examined in the light of the table, and homoeopathic prescriptions improved.
