The unique combination of homeopathic materia medica and repertory in a pocket format.
The Synoptic Key has rightly been one of the most popular homeopathic works for over 100 years. It combines materia medica and repertory in a unique way. The author and homeopathic physician Cyrus Maxwell Boger (1861–1935) is regarded as one of the most gifted homeopaths of his time. He was able to present the special and characteristic features of a remedy with astonishing brevity and clarity. Those who know how to use the Synoptic Key will, with a high degree of certainty, be able to find the appropriate remedy quickly and reliably based on the characteristic symptoms of a case.
The repertory section allows the selection of a few candidate remedies. These can subsequently be differentiated using the materia medica section, which covers over 300 remedies.
The synoptic link between the repertory and the materia medica, together with its clarity and handy size, makes the book an ideal working and teaching manual for beginner and advanced homeopaths.
Cyrus Maxwell Boger
(1861-1935)
was born on 14 May 1861 in Annville, Pennsylvania. In 1888 he completed his medical studies at Hahnemann College in Philadelphia. He then settled in Parkersburg, West Virginia, where he practised as a homeopathic physician until his death in 1935.
Boger was of German descent and spoke German fluently. He studied Bönninghausen intensively. He translated and expanded his publications; in 1905 “Bönninghausen's Characteristics and Repertory” was published.
With his characteristically precise and concise approach, Boger worked out the genius of a case and of the remedy, as shown in his works “Synoptic Key” and “General Analysis”. Boger always sought a balance between meticulous attention to detail and the overarching general aspects of the remedy and the individual case. His repertories allow a certain simplification of remedy selection.
