Remedies derived from marine animals such as Spongia, Sepia or Corallium rubrum have long been an established part of the homoeopathic materia medica. Most of these classic marine remedies come from invertebrates (see SPEKTRUM 2/2021) or marine mammals (see SPEKTRUM 1/2022), while fish have until now occupied a more marginal role in the materia medica. A number of provings and new clinical experiences have changed that in recent years. This has exciting implications for the use of potentised substances from the group of fish. These are particularly suitable for people who live in their own world and therefore have difficulties with communication and interacting with the outside world. The pattern of typical themes and symptoms of fish remedies can thus correspond to various clinical indications such as dementia or conditions on the autism spectrum. Our international authors will, using case studies, work out the common characteristics of this group of remedies and present a number of hitherto little-known remedies from Amphiprion percula, the clownfish, to Betta splendens, the Siamese fighting fish. With this issue SPEKTRUM completes its materia medica of vertebrates.
