For millennia gemstones have captivated people with their magical beauty. The glittering and sparkling treasures are a symbol of immortality, wealth and power.

Many precious and ornamental stones were described, pharmaceutically prepared and used medically in healing from antiquity to the early modern period. They have now arrived in daily homoeopathic practice with the current issue of SPEKTRUM. Peter Tumminello, as a pioneer, has described the remedies of the gemstones and encouraged colleagues worldwide to pursue further research. In his new book and in an overview exclusive to SPEKTRUM he explains the seven crystal structures for clinical application. His approach to understanding these remedies is a rational-mineral one. Internationally known and experienced homoeopaths such as Julie Geraghty, Wiet van Helmond and Misha Norland report in their case studies on their experiences of the healing power of precious and semi-precious stones such as emerald, black opal, pyrite (fool’s gold) or the sulphurous energy of lava that brings minerals from the earth’s interior to the surface.
