Sodium chlorite (NaClO2) is the sodium salt of chlorous acid, not to be confused with table salt (NaCl). It is used as an oxidising agent and for the production of chlorine dioxide for the disinfection of water in water treatment systems and as a bleaching agent for textiles and paper. Sodium chlorite breaks down biofilm and combats microorganisms in water in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
Hydrochloric acid is an aqueous solution of gaseous hydrogen chloride. It is a strong inorganic acid and is classed as a mineral acid. Hydrochloric acid dissolves very well in water.
Chlorine dioxide can be generated from the combination of Component A (sodium chlorite) and Component B (hydrochloric acid). Chlorine dioxide ensures disinfection even at high pH values, is tasteless and is therefore suitable for the disinfection of waters for beverage and food production.
Spectrum of activity
For the disinfection of drinking water.
