Sodium chlorite (NaClO2) is the sodium salt of chlorous acid, not to be confused with table salt (NaCl). It is used as an oxidising agent and to generate chlorine dioxide for disinfecting water in water treatment systems and as a bleaching agent for textiles and paper. Sodium chlorite breaks down "biofilm" and combats germs in water in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
Hydrochloric acid is an aqueous solution of gaseous hydrogen chloride. It is a strong inorganic acid and belongs to the mineral acids. Hydrochloric acid dissolves very well in water.
From the combination of Component A (sodium chlorite) and Component B (hydrochloric acid) chlorine dioxide can be produced. Chlorine dioxide ensures disinfection even at high pH values, is tasteless and therefore suitable for disinfecting waters for the beverage and food industries.
