Even the Maya and the Aztecs called the pear-shaped fruit of the avocado the "butter of the forest" because of its soft, buttery flavour.
The avocado oil is Fair Trade certified. The fruits are grown by smallholder farmers in central and western Kenya. The flesh is gently cold-pressed on site, so the avocado's valuable nutrients — for example its high vitamin E content — are fully preserved.
Due to its exceptionally high smoke point, avocado oil is ideal for baking and frying in a wok or frying pan.
The oil is unrefined. Sediment and slight cloudiness do not affect the quality.
