Description
Unrefined organic hemp oil for a distinctive taste
The oil from the seeds of the time-honoured hemp plant can be used in the kitchen to enhance salads and other dishes, for baking (below 165°C) and also in cosmetics for skin care in many ways. The high content of unsaturated fatty acids makes hemp oil particularly valuable. THC and cannabinoids, by contrast, are barely present.
Our hemp seeds come from certified organic cultivation and are processed using a gentle cold-pressing method. This method ensures that all valuable constituents and the oil’s slightly nutty, herbal flavour are preserved. Only the oil from the first cold press, which has the highest concentration of the natural compounds contained, is used, making this organic hemp oil particularly high quality.
Unsaturated fatty acids for balance and well‑being
Hemp oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, which can contribute to the maintenance of a normal blood cholesterol level, provided they replace saturated fats in the diet.
Hemp oil naturally contains the important omega‑3 and omega‑6 fatty acids in the optimal ratio of 1:3 and also provides other valuable bioactive substances. This balanced ratio of fatty acids is rare in modern diets and can help support a healthy lifestyle.
Omega‑3 and omega‑6 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that our body needs but cannot produce itself. They are crucial for the formation of cell membranes and play an important role in numerous metabolic functions.
Alternative dietary sources of unsaturated fatty acids
In addition to hemp oil, unsaturated fatty acids can also be obtained from fish, linseed, walnuts and certain vegetable oils. However, organic hemp oil offers a ratio of these fatty acids that is particularly favourable for our organism.
What is hemp?
Hemp (Cannabis sativa) has long been cultivated as a useful plant for the production of textiles and ropes, edible oil and essential oils. The herbaceous plants have finger‑like leaves and strong fibres, which make them interesting as a crop. Industrial hemp contains almost no THC.
Hemp has also long been used as an intoxicant. For this purpose, however, only the resinous flowers of the female plants are used, which are not used for hemp oil intended as food.
Health effects*
Replacing saturated fatty acids in the diet with monounsaturated and/or polyunsaturated fatty acids contributes to the maintenance of a normal blood cholesterol level.
