The secret about the origin of the Damascene rose

Damascene rose (Rosa damascena) originally comes from Iran. It is a cultivated rose, likely very old. In the 1940s it was introduced to England, say some people. But it is also said that this rose was already known in antiquity, then cultivated in Persia, already arriving in Europe by the thirteenth century. Be that as it may...

The long flowering period of the crimson red double flower and its unique scent also captivates Europeans. Nowadays it is cultivated above all in Bulgaria, Iran and Turkey. The essential oil of rose is also used in aromatherapy. In 2013 Damascene rose was chosen as the healing plant of the year.

Application
Spray the Unimedica organic rose water directly onto the face, leave for a short time and remove any residue with a cotton pad. For hair care, work the rose water through towel-dried hair. In summer, the organic rose water can be kept in the fridge for a fragrant refreshment. Do not apply to the eyes or mucous membranes.

Love it!
This rosewater from Unimedica is indeed highly refreshing with a marvellous natural scent like a luxury rose elixir. I’m always keen to start my day with it because it’s extra skin care plus it gives my hair a lovely warm fragrance.. I spray it on my hands and rub the essence into my hair. So I can moisturise my natural perm and it helps to stop the static on the hair during dry periods. It gives my curls bounce without stickiness. I also like to mix the rosewater with other hair gels. It’s well known that rosewater prevents blackheads. It works real magic on the skin and I can recommend it for all those who tend to have acne or tainted skin. I found it definitely clears my skin, calming it down and stopping spots. The rosewater also feels really refreshing and it refines the pores. With the reliable cleansing I use it on the face in the morning and in evenings to round off my usual routine. That works great on a cotton pad. It also stops my eczema itching which I’ve had for a long time on my entire hairline – I just spray the rosewater directly on it and rub it in lightly... such lovely relief, it simply does my hair good! The scent is so marvellous that I’m now spraying the room with it!

All-rounder with a beguiling fragrance
As rose water can also be used internally, I naturally tried it out straight away. Organic rose water has a natural antimicrobial effect and slows down the ageing process of the skin. Up to 1 teaspoon in water, dessert, or exceptionally in a glass of Prosecco, the scent of roses enchants me. It promotes the flow of bile, relieves flatulence and stomach complaints, but be careful, it can also have a laxative effect. I'm just passing on my experience.... Stored in the fridge, the rose spray sprayed on my face can be helpful for hot flushes, it relaxes me, helps to reduce stress, and sprayed on my pillow at night, it has a calming effect for me. In the morning, after I've applied my homemade collagen gel, I simply spray it over my moisturiser. The collagen gel also contains DMSO, so I wait about 25 minutes for it to be absorbed anyway. As DMSO acts as a carrier in the deeper layers of the skin, the rose water can also replenish moisture deposits. I am just as enthusiastic about using it as a spray-on hair tonic, as it seals the hair cuticle. It is also an alternative to organic rose oil, which can be added to any cream. A clear recommendation for me......
