Patchouli essential oil, with its earthy, exotic, balsamic and sensual scent, is particularly balancing and mild. It can strengthen the psyche and soothe the nerves and the skin.
For aphrodisiac blends, the extraordinary scent can be well incorporated into floral notes. In combination with rose geranium it can unfold its balancing, strongly skin‑soothing effect. One not‑to‑be‑neglected property is the insect‑repellent action of the essential oil. Patchouli is one of the most important raw materials for fine perfumery. Through ageing and maturation, patchouli oil becomes better, fuller and more aromatic over the years. It is worth allowing the comparatively inexpensive essential oil to mature unopened at home.
