Attracted by the colours and fragrances of various blossoms, bees in summer collect not only the flowers' nectar but also the pollen, known as flower pollen. They form the pollen into small granules and carefully store them in the beehive. Flower pollen is a natural source of protein.
Due to their aromatic, fruity‑mild flavour, they are excellent for rounding off muesli. They are also a treat in yoghurt, warm milk or on honeyed bread.
