Unser Matetee verleiht Schwung und schmeckt dabei kräftig und wunderbar würzig. Der Aufguss aus den Blättern des Mate-Baums war lange nur in Südamerika bekannt, inzwischen ist Mate aber auch hierzulande beliebt.
Das argentinische Nationalgetränk wird traditionell, selbst von „Gauchos“ hoch zu Ross, aus einem ausgehöhlten Flaschenkürbis getrunken. Aber auch in europäischen Tassen lässt sich der Tee aus dem Urwald des Paraná-Beckens genießen.
