Uncomplicated and delicious
Magnolia Table is a cookery book by Joanna Gaines, who is also well-known in this country thanks to Fixer Upper. And her relationship with Chip and the series, her multi-ethnic background and her unmistakable style are also reflected in her cookery book. It contains recipes whose accompanying stories tell of family and friends and therefore appear very genuine and authentic. In typical American style, both breakfast and dinner are very substantial. I also stumbled across some ingredients that were previously unfamiliar to me and may be difficult to find in this country. However, with a little creativity, these recipes can also be made without any problems. I was generally surprised by the simple, everyday preparation, but this in no way detracted from the flavour. Mina's lemon bars in particular are simply amazing! They are irresistibly tasty and very sweet, even warm and straight from the mould. Perhaps the sugar should be reduced here if necessary. The photographs are also wonderful to look at and show snippets of Joanna's and Chip's life, lovingly arranged ingredients, detailed preparation methods or the ready-to-serve dish, although these are not available for every recipe. As mentioned, the recipes accompany more or less long stories and are logically structured. There is also a conversion table for quantities in the appendix, but I haven't used this yet, as all ingredients are usually given in g or tsp and temperatures in °C. Yes, I have to say I am very impressed with this book. Although it is quite meat-heavy, it is also varied and easy to make with little effort. The recipes I've tried so far have also been amazingly tasty and, thanks to the individually listed (salad) sauces, dips and side dishes, can also be combined and modified individually - even if the recipe usually already specifies a combination.

Super cookery book
Very fast delivery , the book is really very good, so far I have not been able to cook anything, but I have already picked out several recipes that I can prepare with my grandson in the near future.

Out of place
I was a bit shocked to find a cookery book like this at Narayana. It doesn't fit together for me at all. I'm a professional and I think that just because someone has a TV programme and can be marketed well through it, it doesn't have to be a cookbook. There are plenty of cookery books that offer delicious recipes. What I miss in this book is any kind of discussion of the current health and ethical aspects of the ingredients and recipes. But people just want to be entertained. My main problem is: it fits in a "normal bookshop", but not at Narayana!
