Trailer von How Not To Die:

In How Not To Die analysiert Greger die häufigsten 15 Todesursachen der westlichen Welt, zu denen z.

Dan Buettner, Bestseller-Autor der „The Blue Zones“

Niko Rittenau, Magazin "Kochen ohne Knochen", Jan. 2017

Absolut empfehlenswert."
Michael Lausberg, www.scharf-links.de, Mai 2018

Extensive, but easy to read
Great book, lots of tips on life-prolonging nutrition or in other words: against premature death! Although I have been involved with nutrition for a while, I have gained a lot of new insights here. Thanks to Dr Greger and his team. It is impressive what we already know (proven by studies) and at the same time frustrating how much of this knowledge is still not applied. So let's help ourselves and not rely on doctors and authorities to give us this knowledge. Let's put a stop to the so-called diseases of civilisation! My advice: Take responsibility for your health, this book will help you.

Finally a scientifically sound contribution on the subject
This is the first publication on the subject of plant-based nutrition that has convinced me to try a vegan diet and I've already read a lot! The author analyses thousands of studies and describes how food and its ingredients affect the human body and makes connections to the most common diseases of our time. Good and entertaining to read, this is proof that science doesn't have to be boring. The second part of the book contains descriptions of the components of a healthy diet with many suggestions for personal implementation. In short: the best book I have ever read on healthy eating. One note: mistake on page 338: Metformin lowers blood sugar, not blood pressure

A healthy building block
Even if the title of the book is not so well chosen, Dr Michael Greger's book, published by us in 2016, is a building block and an important contribution to the topic of nutrition in various clinical pictures for all of us. He is a doctor and nutritionist himself and writes about cases from the beginning of his practical work as a doctor and from his own practice. He points out and shares his findings and experiences with us, opens our eyes and makes us aware of how to deal with a diet that is adapted to our state of health. Everyone should know this book and incorporate it into their daily routine. It is based on a healthy foundation and can help to largely avoid the illnesses described. No, it does not claim to be complete - which is not even possible - but it is a building block for more awareness in dealing with ourselves and our food. And, for which I am particularly grateful to him, his book helps us to take a closer look at the subject of nutrition, which is long overdue if we want to eat healthily in the coming decades.

Review of the book How not to die
I haven't read the whole book yet. I noticed that the consumption of fat does not come off well in this book (no distinction was made between unsaturated and saturated fat). I read the exact opposite in another book. What is true now? I will have to look into this issue further.

Enlightening non-fiction book
Written professionally and comprehensibly. The most common diseases of civilisation are each addressed in a chapter, explaining how they arise and how they can be prevented or cured. Without any medication, just through diet and exercise. I thought I was eating healthily, but I'm going to make some adjustments. The first non-fiction book that I can't stop reading.

The new nutrition bible!
What you had to gather together before is now all (and more than that) summarised nicely and comprehensibly in one book. Good for some still personally unknown information and good for giving away and participating in Greger's mission.

A suuuper book.
Unfortunately I haven't got round to reading it yet, I've only been able to leaf through it. Nevertheless, I can say that it is a very important book for restoring your health with the right foods, which are described in detail. Or to prevent illnesses from occurring in the first place by taking preventative measures. I wouldn't want to be without this book.

THE nutrition bible for feeling really good
I've already bought this book a few times, partly to give as a gift. Why? It is factual, yet exciting and all recommendations are based on the evaluation of hundreds of recognised studies. You quickly realise the true value: when it comes to nutrition, many roads lead to Rome, but this is the best! For several months now, my choice of food has been based on Dr Greger's recommendations. Of course, due to the temptations of the industry, I have not been able to do this consistently. But my blood values and, more importantly, my overall state of health have been great ever since. If you're serious about being and staying happy, you've come to the right place.

Very informative, well summarised
I am very enthusiastic about the book! It contains so much information and it's really well summarised. You really understand everything because it's written in a simple way without any technical terms. I've already learnt a lot about nutrition, but you really never stop learning. Thanks to the easy aids, I was also able to incorporate even more healthy alternatives into my everyday life.

Great enrichment
The book actually consists of 2 separate books: Part 1 describes the possible clinical pictures in great detail and in an understandable way, and in the 2nd part the recommended foods. The book is a very good reference work and an instructive companion for healthy eating.

A must for every household!
The somewhat lurid title draws attention to the book. It has been very well researched. The 15 most common chronic diseases are presented with regard to the possibilities of "outwitting" them with the right food. If you are not affected by one of these diseases, you can read straight into the second part, in which Greger presents his "daily dozen". The sources of the cited studies alone fill 100 pages. Despite the strong US reference, the information on our eating habits is transferable to European conditions and helpful. The book has the quality of an extremely useful home and handbook.

How not to die
I read a few pages every day. The idea of preventing diseases in advance and not fighting them afterwards is interesting. The discussion of plant-based nutrition is worthwhile and inspiring, especially as it deals with ingenious products such as cabbage and dried beans. It's worth reading the book, it will probably change my eating habits. Clare

Scientifically sound
What I particularly like is that there are no explicit prohibitions in Dr Greger's nutrition programme. I think most nutrition programmes fail because of strict prohibitions and most people give up very quickly because they say to themselves, I won't be able to stick to it anyway. So it's better to go straight back to fast food and soft drinks, at least you don't have to think about it.

Informative and factually sound
Medical studies on the most common modern diseases, very factual and descriptive, convincing, not always easy to read. His conclusion: vegan food is the panacea for EVERYTHING! Very convincingly explained, but perhaps a little extreme. I will definitely change my diet, but I don't want to become a vegan fanatic because of it!

I think the book is great. The introduction alone motivates you to read the book. I think the division into two parts (statistics/effect and options for action) is good
