A great book and a milestone of modern homeopathy. It was the first step towards a deeper understanding of the mineral remedies in our Materia Medica. This was achieved by analysing the individual components of salts (such as calcium, natrium, manganum etc. and muriaticum, carbonicum, bromatum etc.).
Scholten called this method group analysis. If one understands the themes of the individual components, one can also predict the properties of any possible combination of these building blocks. Thus many new remedies (e.g. Calc-m) were introduced into therapy. They have since been prescribed successfully thousands of times worldwide.
This work was the first step towards the theory of the elements, which is described in "Homeopathy and the Elements".
