Bird Remedies in Homoeopathic Practice

In recent years the bird remedies have swooped down, conquering homeopathic practice. They are remedies for our times and are indicated in people who, like the Lanthanides, are seeking freedom and self‑realisation yet at the same time have a strong sense of duty towards their family. They tend to sacrifice themselves to this task, consequently feeling too restricted by their duties.

Physically this most often presents as stubborn tension in the neck, shoulders and chest, together with an inner sense of tenseness and restlessness.

After a comprehensive introduction to the general characteristics by which bird patients can be identified, the author presents a series of impressive case histories, some with severe pathology. Alongside the familiar Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) and Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus disciplinatus), there are also descriptions of less familiar bird remedies such as Red Kite (Milvus milvus), Northern Goshawk (Accipiter gentilis), Chicken (Gallus gallus), European Robin (Erithacus rubecula) and Magpie (Pica pica).

Over 20 different bird remedies are sketched by the author, who has successfully used them all in his homeopathic general medical practice. He also provides insights into unconventional methods of remedy selection, relying on the patient’s gestures, pictures and sensations.

“The confident feeling for bird remedies and the profound knowledge of this new remedy group are so pronounced in Markus Kuntosch that I can warmly recommend this book to any open‑minded homeopath. He prescribes the remedies with astonishing precision and the cases are so outstanding that such results could scarcely have been obtained with other remedies.”
Ulrich Welte, MD, homeopath

Beautiful Clarity
I love this book! Markus Kuntosch has such concise distillations of the essence of each bird, with enough detail to flesh it out, but not so much that it overwhelms or becomes confusing. Even the layout: spacing, colors, photos, support this clarity by making it easy to notice what is most important & find what you are looking for quickly. He shares his blend of casetaking methods, inspiring this fledgeling homeopath with the confidence to take off in a similar style. I hope he writes more books!

Excellent!
A truly wonderful resource, this beautifully presented book not only sheds glorious light on these Birds and their wisdom but it places them within Jan Scholten's work and explains the differences and similarities between Lanthanides, for example, and Bird Remedies. Highly recommended.

I regret I purchased it
Sorry to have to write this but aside from some beautiful pictures there's not a lot of information about the remedies. Also the symptoms are scattered, there' s not a coherent picture of the remedy - very difficult to memorize them this way. If you need a synthetic book on this topic you better buy Peter Fraser's.

Thank you Markus!
Your book is wonderful, very helpful and beautifully layouted. It is helping me to find remedies I didn't know about, and to learn about remedies that I already use.
