Flor Essence – Its history
The story of Flor Essence reads like a novel. The Ojibwa of Canada entrusted the recipe to Canadian René Caisse more than 80 years ago. Thanks to the support of journalist Elaine Alexander, Flor Essence became known beyond Canada’s borders.
We have been importing this valuable herbal blend since 1995. The tea blend is produced by the renowned Canadian manufacturer Flora (FMD). They make the Native herbal tea blend to the original formulation in high quality. Elaine Alexander’s signature on every pack of Flor Essence guarantees the pure and unadulterated original herbal blend.
Preparation of Flor Essence
You should always prepare only one portion sachet so that the tea essence is always fresh. For the preparation of Flor Essence, please use a medium‑sized saucepan and bring 1 1/4 litres of drinking water to the boil. Then add the contents of the portion sachet to the boiling water. Let the herbal tea gently simmer, covered, for about 15 minutes over low heat. Afterwards leave the herbal tea to infuse for 10–12 hours at room temperature (best left overnight). Then bring it briefly to the boil again. After cooling, the Flor Essence herbal tea can be poured into a glass bottle and should be stored in the fridge.
Note: Flor Essence is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, nor for persons with a hypersensitivity to iodine.
