Makes it much easier
To be honest, I used to smile a little at gluten intolerance until we were confronted with it ourselves and I began to realise how drastic a diagnosis like this really is. Especially when it affects a child and you are suddenly faced with the problem of having to remove all your favourite dishes from the menu. This book really helped me to change my diet and give my child back the joy of eating. We are still at the very beginning, but the fact that this book has made pizza and cake possible again and given me more room for manoeuvre when cooking thanks to the corresponding basic recipes has helped me immensely to "see land" again. Thank you!

A wonderful book!
Becky Excell has really filled a gap with her book. Finally being able to enjoy all those wonderful baked goods again that you may have had to do without for a long time because they contain gluten. I like the systematic approach: basic recipes for different types of dough, lots of useful tips and great recipes! Highly recommended!

So infinitely helpful
We were immediately very enthusiastic about 'All favourite gluten-free recipes'. It enables those affected to finally eat almost 'normally' and to include dishes that have long been taboo in their diet. However, the book also helps newcomers like me to get to grips with this topic. It includes a crash course in preparation and gluten-free alternatives, which are also very helpful apart from the recipes included. The fact that this cookery book originally comes from Great Britain makes little difference. Regionally available products are mentioned, but alternatives are also shown, such as the possibility of mixing your own flour (I didn't find an exact mixing ratio for this, however). And other foods used here are also available from Narayana Verlag, for example. I also liked the labelling of the dishes in this cookbook, which at first glance indicates other properties such as vegan, vegetarian, lactose-free or low FODMAP and, if necessary, also mentions appropriate changes to convert a recipe. However, I am not yet familiar with FODMAP and therefore cannot comment on it. However, this type of diet is intended to alleviate symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, which definitely makes sense in this case. I found the pizza, pasta, bread, pastries and basic recipes such as shortcrust pastry and puff pastry incredibly helpful. On the one hand, these are very versatile and can be used in a variety of ways, but they also help me as a mum to fulfil the children's wishes immensely. This means that going without food no longer has such a serious impact on our everyday lives and has eased the situation enormously for us. In a very short time, this book has become a daily companion and reference book for me that I can no longer imagine my everyday life without.
