Simone Carlson shows that dealing with horses can be done differently, with respect, clarity and mindfulness. The training sessions are really fun - illustrated and explained in a way that is easy to understand. She offers individual solutions depending on the type of horse. This is the only way to really get to know your horse and do better justice to its nature. Your own awareness changes very quickly, you become much more aware of the animal's energy and learn to feel it. I love the short stories and anecdotes in this book, very inspiring! Instead of conditioning, Carlson favours understanding. It's about having a dialogue and the exciting thing is that it works! You just have to stay on the ball. While you learn to focus properly and pay attention to things like timing, the horse learns to develop a better feeling for its own body. Simply a wonderful book that provides lots of valuable ideas! Because "The soul of a horse only reveals itself to those who seek it."

Every riding student should read

Simone Carlson vividly describes the basics of the partnership with the horse with many pictures. Starting with approaching, leading, haltering, free-running ground work and rope work. In between, there is a practical story for each topic. As a horse owner of many years' standing, I also found it interesting to read. I particularly like Simone's attitude and philosophy because it totally corresponds to mine.

Horses are as individual as we humans are, everyone needs something different, everyone reacts differently. It's about observing the horse and helping it to learn. The horse should not just work, but cooperate voluntarily. If you train your eye, you can recognise when the horse is unwell or even suffering. many interesting stories and exercises. Richly illustrated and many drawings.
