Outstanding standard work

The book may not be cheap, but it is great, the price is justified and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in equine homeopathy on more than a superficial level, regardless of whether they are a horse owner, vet, homeopath or alternative practitioner. The experienced practitioner presents clinical pictures and their homeopathic treatment in an extremely differentiated way and it is a pleasure to include this book in the search for treatment strategies. The individual clinical pictures are well explained and different remedies are used in their different courses. Remedies and potencies are always adapted to the disease, up-to-date and neither conventional nor superficial. Homeopaths simply work differently here and Couzens uses C potencies instead of the D potencies that are often used in Germany. This is also closer to me personally! Basic principles are explained very well, including the choice of potency, there is a very nice chapter on constitutional remedies and a great Materia Medica with an additional description of "minor remedies", intestinal nosodes and Schüssler salts, but the most space is taken up by the detailed explanation of the choice of remedy for various diseases, including emergency medicine and vaccination reactions. A glossary and a pleasing index of keywords and remedies round off the book in a reader-friendly manner.

This book is simply great. It provides information on the constitutional types, treatment options and also contains a Materia Medica for the remedies presented. Highly recommended for THP's and also horse owners.

Great for all situations in the horse's life

Great, comprehensive book on equine homeopathy. Constiutional remedies are dealt with in great detail and there is a whole section of the book in which the specific complaints are described and the individual remedies or sometimes combinations of remedies appropriate to the symptoms or stages are presented. For example: In the case of coughs, there is a distinction between acute and chronic coughs and, within these, between initial stages, severe cases and pronounced dampness. For laminitis, Tim Couzens recommends different combinations of remedies in chronic cases - depending on the focus of the problem. I have seen very good treatment results very quickly. The book is suitable for homeopathy professionals, for lay people it needs more background knowledge, I think.
