Description
The variety of the monastery garden in capsule form
For our Nasturtium-Horseradish Complex we have tracked down ancient knowledge of monastery gardeners and brought it into a modern, everyday-friendly form: 5 vitamins combined with well-established plant constituents from nasturtium and horseradish.
The two from the monastery garden – arm in arm with acerola and vitamins
Unimedica's Nasturtium-Horseradish Complex combines two time-honoured herbs – nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus) and horseradish (Armoracia rusticana) – with natural vitamin C from acerola, vitamin B3 (niacin) and biotin (vitamin B7) in a vegan capsule. The vitamin C here comes from acerola extract obtained from the fruit. The acerola cherry is regarded as one of nature's richest sources of vitamin C, and our bodies can utilise the vitamin in this form well.
Why this combination makes sense
The natural pungent compounds and other constituents of nasturtium and horseradish complement each other. They were often used together in folk medicine, especially for troubled airways and to support the urinary tract.
Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system and protects cells from oxidative stress. It can be well absorbed in its natural form, as from acerola. Niacin (vitamin B3) contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes. This is particularly relevant because intact mucous membranes – whether in the airways or the bladder – represent an important first barrier of the body. Biotin (vitamin B7) is regarded as the skin vitamin and supports the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes.
Support for the body's defences on the menu!
Nasturtium can be found fresh in some gardens and is delicious as a salad ingredient with a peppery, piquant note. Horseradish is best known as a spicy accompaniment to meat or fish and also grows in almost every cottage garden in our latitudes. Vitamin C is mainly provided by fresh fruit and vegetables (bell peppers, citrus fruits, rosehip). Niacin is found in meat, pulses and wholegrain products. Biotin occurs in eggs, nuts and liver.
Who the Nasturtium-Horseradish Complex capsules from Unimedica support
Especially during the cold season – when the immune system and mucous membranes are particularly challenged – targeted supplementation with plant constituents and vitamins can be sensible. But this plant–vitamin combination is appreciated outside the winter months as well. The capsules are not only practical for everyday use and neutral in taste, i.e. not pungent. The combination of selected B-complex vitamins and vitamin C is also interesting from several perspectives: immune function, cellular protection and mucous membrane care – a finely balanced overall package in one capsule. For a supply of the included vitamins and plant constituents distributed over the day, the recommended daily amount can be divided across several intake times.
