The variety of the monastery garden in capsule form
For our cress‑horseradish complex we have unearthed ancient knowledge of monastery gardeners and brought it into a modern, everyday form: 5 vitamins combined with tried‑and‑tested plant constituents from garden nasturtium and horseradish.
The two from the monastery garden, arm in arm with acerola and vitamins
The cress‑horseradish complex from Unimedica unites two time‑honoured herbs – garden nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus) and horseradish (Armoracia rusticana) – with natural vitamin C from acerola, vitamin B3 (niacin) and biotin (vitamin B7) in a vegan capsule. The vitamin C here comes from acerola extract, which is obtained from the fruit. The acerola cherry is considered one of nature’s richest sources of vitamin C and our body can readily utilise the vitamin in this form.
Why this combination is beneficial
The natural pungent substances and other constituents of cress and horseradish complement each other. They were traditionally used together in folk medicine, especially for supporting respiratory health and the urinary tract.
Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system and protects cells from oxidative stress. It can be well absorbed in its natural form, as from acerola. Niacin (vitamin B3) contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes. This is particularly relevant because intact mucous membranes – whether in the respiratory tract or the bladder – form an important first barrier of the body. Biotin (vitamin B7) is regarded as a skin vitamin and supports the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes.
Add immune support to the menu!
Garden nasturtium can be found fresh in many a garden and is delicious as a salad ingredient with a peppery, spicy note. Horseradish is known primarily as a piquant accompaniment to meat or fish and also grows in almost every cottage garden in our regions. Vitamin C is provided mainly by fresh fruit and vegetables (bell peppers, citrus fruits, rose hips). Niacin is found in meat, pulses and wholegrain products. Biotin occurs in eggs, nuts and liver.
Who the cress‑horseradish complex capsules from Unimedica can support
Especially during the cold season – when the immune system and mucous membranes are particularly challenged – targeted supplementation with plant compounds and vitamins can be useful. But this plant‑vitamin combination is also appreciated outside the winter months. The capsules are not only practical for everyday use but also flavour‑neutral, i.e. not hot. The combination of selected B‑complex vitamins and vitamin C is interesting from several perspectives: immune function, cellular protection and mucous membrane care – a finely balanced complete package in a single capsule. To distribute the intake of the contained vitamins and plant compounds over the day, the recommended daily amount can be split across several doses.
