This spice mix contains Bärwurz, galangal root, liquorice root and savoury. The Bärwurz spice mix can be used to make Bärwurz pear honey according to Hildegard of Bingen, to enjoy as a bread spread or on its own.

Preparation of Bärwurz pear honey according to Hildegard of Bingen:
Peel and core 1.5 kg pears. Cook in plenty of water until almost soft and strain. Alternatively, use 1.5 kg canned pears. Gently heat 250 g (approx. 12 tbsp) honey and skim off the foam. Puree the pears and place in a saucepan. Add the skimmed honey and 100 g Bärwurz spice mixture. Bring briefly to the boil again while stirring and pour into clean jars.
Manufacturer's recommendation:
Take this mixture for 4 weeks: 1 tsp in the morning, 2 tsp after lunch and 3 tsp before going to bed. For body weight under 60 kg and for children aged 6 and over use half the dose.
