Description
Hemp oil in naturally pure, organic quality for special enjoyment
The oil from the seeds of the traditional crop hemp can be used in the kitchen to refine salads and other dishes, for baking (below 165°C) and also in cosmetics for skin care in many ways. The high content of unsaturated fatty acids makes hemp oil particularly valuable. THC and cannabinoids, by contrast, are barely present.
Our hemp seeds come from certified organic cultivation and are processed using a gentle cold-pressing method. This method ensures that all valuable constituents and the slightly nutty, herbal flavour of the oil are preserved. Only the oil from the first cold pressing with the highest concentration of naturally occurring ingredients is used, which makes this organic hemp oil particularly high quality.
Unsaturated fatty acids for balance and well‑being
Hemp oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, which can contribute to the maintenance of a normal blood cholesterol level, insofar as they replace saturated fats in the diet.
Hemp oil naturally contains the important omega‑3 and omega‑6 fatty acids in the optimal ratio of 1:3 and also provides other valuable organic active substances. This balanced ratio of fatty acids is rare in the modern diet and can help support a healthy lifestyle.
Omega‑3 and omega‑6 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that our body needs but cannot produce itself. They are crucial for the formation of cell membranes and play an important role in numerous metabolic functions.
Alternative dietary sources of unsaturated fatty acids
In addition to hemp oil, unsaturated fatty acids can also be obtained from fish, linseeds, walnuts and certain vegetable oils. However, organic hemp oil offers a particularly favourable balance of these fatty acids for our bodies.
What is hemp?
Hemp (Cannabis sativa) has long been used as a crop for the production of textiles and ropes, cooking oil and essential oil. The herbaceous plants have finger‑like leaves and strong fibres, which make them interesting as a crop. Industrial hemp contains almost no THC.
Hemp also has a long tradition as an intoxicant. However, only the resinous flowers of the female plants are used for this purpose, and these are not used for hemp oil as a food.
Range of effects*
Replacing saturated fatty acids with mono‑ and/or polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet contributes to the maintenance of a normal blood cholesterol level.
*Health‑related claims approved by the European Food Safety Authority.
