D-mannose from Unimedica is a monosaccharide in powder form. It is a natural, purely plant-based substance. D-mannose is derived from maize and produced without genetic engineering. It also occurs in small amounts in the human body. It is therefore not a foreign substance to the body and is well absorbed.

The insider tip for urinary tract infections
D-Mannose is the ideal remedy for prevention, but also for acute urinary tract infections! I use it myself time and again and have already recommended it to numerous women in my circle. Easy to use, no side effects, but great effect - explained in layman's terms: the simple sugar "mannose" binds the bacteria in the urinary tract that cause inflammation and thus prevents them from adhering to the walls. They are thus rendered harmless and flushed out. The economy pack offered here is inexpensive and packaged to a very high standard, can often be opened and closed again tightly thanks to the well-functioning "zip" and is therefore also ideal for travelling. Each pack also comes with a small measuring spoon.

Very good product
I like both the contents and the packaging. There is less plastic, the lid closes reliably and the walls are sturdy. It can also be put down. Mannose simply works well and is a basic therapy for cystitis. However, regardless of which mannose is used, 1 MB per hour is needed for acute inflammation, less later and 2 MB of mannose per litre for maintenance. You should drink at least 3 litres in total during the day and possibly also at night (if your heart and kidneys are OK), that is the be-all and end-all. Setting an alarm clock for drinking times makes it easier to remember, e.g. 200 ml every 30 minutes. In addition, some citrate-based alkaline powder buffers the acidity of the urine so that the mucous membrane in the bladder is not constantly irritated and can heal. Goldenrod helps to heal and flushes the water out again. Avoid hot spices at all costs.

When it's acute, I take one MB after every visit to the toilet so there's always mannose in my bladder. I find that more practical than taking it hourly and I don't have to keep track of the times.

Quick relief
For me, D-mannose is effective against cystitis, but only in high doses: I take 2 or 3 tablespoons in a large glass of water before going to bed. If I get up during the night, I take another tablespoon. In the morning I'm fine. And taking it at night means I don't suffer any intestinal discomfort (stomach ache, bloating due to the fact that D-mannose is an undigested sugar - so it doesn't make you put on weight and it doesn't alter the bacteriological intestinal flora, it doesn't encourage the development of candida albican, which is great). During the day, you can take two measuring spoons (included in the pack) to relieve pain quickly, in half an hour, without causing any intestinal discomfort. I take more in the evening if necessary, until I'm symptom-free. I recommend it and I always have some in stock!

Pure bladder health

D-Mannose dissolved in water has a very pleasant flavour for me. Since I've always had D-Mannose on hand, I've been able to avoid taking antibiotics when I have an incipient bladder infection! However, once the symptoms have subsided, it makes sense to register with your GP for a urine test, but this is very important if you experience fever or chills with cystitis!!!!

Recurrent urinary tract infections since June 2025
Hello . I have just received D-Mannose. I've had repeated urinary infections since June. And the bacteria is always the same, E-Coli, which is now also found in my vagina. The gynaecologist prescribed ova which I finished. Nothing has changed 4 days after I stopped taking the antibiotics, the infection is still there. I honestly don't know what to do. I wanted to know how much D-Mannose I should take a day to get rid of all this? My morale is taking a hit. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello I had the same problems for a few years, particularly with mannose, which I took three times a day during peak periods. It helped, but I still had urinary infections at least three or four times a year. My gynaecologist then prescribed a vaginal cream, which I use twice a week. I haven't had a urinary infection for two years! Please don't hesitate to give me your advice, and I wish you all the best!
