The OPC forte capsules by Unimedica contain a high concentration of grape seed extract, measured using the proven UPLC method. This extract contains a substantial proportion of pure OPC (oligomeric proanthocyanidins).
The grapes for the OPC forte capsules by Unimedica are grown in France's wine-growing regions, harvested and gently extracted on site (water extraction). This preserves the valuable constituents of the high-quality French grapes to a large extent, particularly the OPC content. The capsules are manufactured in certified facilities in Germany. The dried grape seed extract is enclosed in a plant-derived capsule shell, which makes administration and dosing easier.
What does OPC mean?
Oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC) are secondary plant compounds, so-called flavanols. They belong to the polyphenols. These plant compounds protect plants from excessive UV radiation, parasites and extreme climatic conditions. OPC forte capsules by Unimedica contain this natural plant defence compound concentrated by extraction in a high-strength form.
Do other foods also contain OPC?
OPC occurs naturally in several foods, not only in red and white grapes and grape seed meal. It is also found in certain tree barks (e.g. pine) and in various berries and fruits. However, the French grape is considered one of the best natural sources of OPC. For this reason, these grapes are also used to produce the OPC capsules by Unimedica.
