Case 3
This patient constantly feels cramped, nervous and tense. When he has to do something for the first time, he reacts very nervously; he cannot remain calm. After such a situation he feels nauseous, the palms of his hands and the soles of his feet sweat and he goes into a panic. Everything feels blocked from the inside. Any situation can lead to cramping and tension, whether at work, while travelling or at a doctor's appointment, as is the case now. By nature he is very impatient. He has very low self-esteem and considers himself incompetent. He is very hesitant to start a task because he believes he will do everything wrong. He clings strongly to other people because that gives him a feeling of security.
The cramping precedes a panic attack (he makes a gesture of cramping). It is like a wall standing in front of him. The opposite of this cramping is bliss and peace, as if there were no wall; then he can breathe freely. He compares the sensation of being cramped (he adopts a foetal position) to being in a dark place where he is stuck, pressed from all sides and cannot get out. It feels suffocating. The idea produces an unpleasant sensation in his stomach area. In these situations he screams with rage and feels so much panic that he could smash a wall. Those are his words. His anger worsens when people do not listen to him and things get out of control. That intensifies the panic even more. With familiar people who care for him he feels safe. He then feels as if he is in a safe circle, protected from the outside world.
Dependence on other people and inability to act are typical of the mineral kingdom. The sensation of being stuck, crushed and cramped in connection with panic is an indication of Row 2. The remedy in which this sensation is central is Nitrogenium [6].
Prescription: Nitrogenium C200, once a week.
Follow-up: Four months later the panic attacks had improved significantly. The feeling of tension and explosiveness had noticeably decreased.
The cases were compiled and edited by Sneha Vyas and Devang Shah.
